Trump tweets about Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi photos with Putin, Russian envoy

The allegations prompted Trump to acknowledge at a news conference last month that he probably can’t do business with Russian Federation now because of the political climate.

Schumer commented at the time: ‘When I showed the president of Russian Federation a Krispy Kreme doughnut and he ate it and said it was good, that was one of the more surreal moments I’ve had in politics’.

European allies also have been pushing the Trump administration not to make any early concessions to Russian Federation.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told CNN Mr Kislyak was “a well-known, world-class diplomat”.

“Great hire”, said Michael McFaul, U.S. ambassador to Russian Federation under Obama.

Mr Trump also tweeted on Friday about House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who was among the first to call for Mr Sessions to resign. And Trump isn’t exactly the most diplomatic of people. Earlier, Flynn stepped down as national security adviser after being accused by the media of discussing sanctions on Russian Federation with Kislyak.

Lawyers have ordered Mr Trump’s administration to save any potential evidence of alleged Russian interference in the USA election. One is to engage Putin and the other one is a willingness to confront Putin as well and have a credible deterrence against him. “That said, the overarching thought of better relations with Russian Federation was certainly their strategic position”.

The Kremlin rejected any intention of returning Crimea. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, deputy White House press secretary, also drew attention to Schumer on Friday, asking reporters: “Please explain to me how volunteers meeting at a conference where almost 80 ambassadors attended is a story”. Vocativ’s Kevin Collier shared a popular theory: It went from the top of subreddit The_Donald, to an Infowars editor, then Trump’s director of social media, and ultimately, Trump’s account.

USA Today reported Thursday that Gordon and another former Trump campaign adviser, Carter Page, met with Russia’s ambassador to the US, Sergey Kislyak, at the RNC.

Trump and his team have long insisted that his campaign had no contact with Russian officials during the 2016 race, and that they were not behind softening the language on Ukraine in the Republican Party platform. More than half think Congress should investigate the Trump campaign’s ties to Russian Federation.

Hill will be under strong pressure not only to formulate an answer to Putin’s aggression against the United States, but in bridging Trump’s solicitousness toward Putin and the intense suspicion of the Russian president within Congress, the intelligence agencies and the military.
