With DeSean Jackson, the Buccaneers Finally Get Their Deep Threat

According to a report from NFL.com the former Washington Redskins wide receiver was top of the wish list of Winston in free agency.

His signing gives the NFC South team another big play player to go along with receiver Mike Evans. Jackson had four by himself and averaged an NFL-best 17.9 yards per catch.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to sign DeSean Jackson.

Restricted free agents do occasionally find new teams, but the vast majority of them simply sign their tender offers, converting them into one-year contracts for the upcoming season, and then become unrestricted free agents (UFAs) the following year. Last season, Winston was eighth in passing touchdowns and 16th in attempts.

After all, he was targeted an insane 176 times last season and caught 96 passes for 1,321 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The first day of the league year was a special one for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mingo’s deal is worth $2.5 million, his agent confirmed.

The hope among some Bucs fans is Jackson somehow chooses No. 83, so they can recycle the No. 83 they’ve proudly worn for WR Vincent Jackson, who is unlikely to be back with the team after his contract expired.

The team also re-signed running back Jaquizz Rogers and safety Chris Conte.

Safety was one of Washington’s biggest needs after trying multiple pieces there past year, including veteran Donte Whitner.

Jackson’s blazing 4.35 speed in the 40-yard dash has been on display for years with the Redskins.

The Patriots being in on DeSean Jackson sounds fun but unless he’s ready to take a very steep discount, it isn’t happening.

The Redskins are likely losing their top two wide receivers in free agency.

RAMS: Los Angeles addressed its two biggest needs by agreeing to terms with offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth and receiver Robert Woods. After playing only five games in 2016 and 10 in 2015, it’s clear that the 34-year-old Jackson is trending in the wrong direction.
