Torrey Smith Joins WR Alshon Jeffery, Agrees To Contract With Eagles
The Bears are expected to soon sign Mike Glennon, but who will be his top receiver in Chicago? (He’ll get $14.6 million, should he hit $4.5 million in incentives.) But he still received the highest one-year, non-tag contract in National Football League history.

“I was playing for the Bears, I was hopeful we’d win”, Jeffery said at his introductory press conference Friday.
Jeffrey had 52 catches for 821 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2016. “By that same token, what we said last week is true”.
For Jeffery and Smith, it also helps having the quarterback. The Eagles haven’t had a receiver reach the 1,000 mark since Jeremy Maclin’s final season with the team in 2014.
The Bears now have a major need to fill at the receiver position. You just have to fit in the right situation. He comes on a one-year deal and should start at left guard.
Jeffery battled injuries for each of the last two seasons in Chicago. Especially if the work he said the team still has to do looks anything like it did in Day 1 of free agency. When he is healthy, he’s a terrific player and a great redzone target.
Because of the way Jeffery’s deal is structured, he will only count $9.5 million against the cap in 2017. He has notably been mentioned in trade rumors this offseason.
The Bears did make an offer to Jeffery, Pace said. For Jeffery, who made franchise-tag money a year ago, it avoids the blow to the ego that comes from taking a pay cut.
He straight up said he didn’t care about being MVP.
What they don’t want to do is waste half of Wentz’s career trying to win by allocating most of their resources elsewhere. “That’s the right mindset, the right attitude.’ That means a lot for a young player to say that”.
Lurie has been there, done that, and it’s clear now that he’ll do anything to keep from going there again.
Listed at 6-3, 220 pounds, Floyd plays a similar big receiver role as Jeffery.

“Joe was with [Jeffery] in Chicago”, Roseman said. “To be able to play with a guy like that and also grow with him and help him in other ways, I’m looking forward to it”.
