Michigan’s KenPom adjusted tempo is 62.6 possessions per game (339th) and Oklahoma State’s is 70 possessions per game (64th).

Louisville was made the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Regional. If Michigan advances to play Louisville, the Wolverines will be an interesting contrast to the aforementioned Cardinals bricklayers, because Michigan can flat out stroke it.

“Just having to climb that uphill battle, it definitely is very special because a lot of people probably didn’t think we’d be in this situation”, Forte said.

This might be the most encouraging development for OSU fans since Brad Underwood was hired to replace Travis Ford. MI rarely plays a game at 70 possessions while the Cowboys have barely played any below that rate. It was that Evans missed all of the fun a year ago. And in my column for Monday, which you can read here, I didn’t use the term, but I definitely inferred, that both OSU and MI were underseeded.

Purdue should make the sweet 16 because it will be too big for a very good Vermont team that has won 21 straight games, and then should handle Nevada or Iowa State. “He’s had 15 assists in a game”.

There are three sessions of games. The Cowboys had their Big 12 Tournament title hopes dashed by eventual champions Iowa State in the quarterfinals of the tournament. Are we consistent? Not always great, but are we pretty consistent? He’s doing what he can do to help our team win.

The reason the Cards’ No. 2 slot could be considered a mild surprise is their late-season struggles – they lost to North Carolina and Wake Forest in addition to Duke, while winning home games against Syracuse and Notre Dame – and their lack of quality victories outside the friendly confines of the Yum! Then their value triples in March.

Underwood knows. Before coming to OSU, he had a point guard named Trey Pinkney at Stephen F. Austin.

It is Miami’s ninth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and third in six years under Larranaga. “We play in the top league in the country”. He was the engineer.

“We kept hearing we were in”, Weber said. Louisville is averaging 77.5 points per game and they are shooting 45.6 percent from the floor and 35.9 percent from beyond the 3-point arc while defensively they are allowing 65.8 points and their opponents are shooting 39.6 percent.

Seems like a tall order in many respects but Pitino has done more with much less talent, getting players to buy into his vision for them, inspiring them to sometimes achieve the unachievable. The Cowboys expect he will.

“They pose some problems because they have a five man (Moe Wagner) who shoots the heck out of it and we don’t see that a ton in our conference, that’ll be a little different look for us”, he said. Pitino and the Cardinals faced Beilein and MI in the 2013 NCAA finals. The Pokes primarily play man-to-man defense, but press on 10% of defensive possessions and will play also some zone (14.2%) as well. “Coach (John) Beilein’s got that team dealing with adversity and playing at a high level”. It’s another serious challenge, but Evans can’t wait. “Me being my first time going, it’s an exciting moment to remember”.

“It won’t be the biggest accomplishment we’ve had and it will not go down with many of our fans as a real accomplishment, but … sometime from now maybe I’ll have a better appreciation for what they’ve gone through and what they’ve done”.
