Leicester suffered a 4-2 defeat when they faced Barcelona in a pre-season friendly in Stockholm last August but Morgan is keen to test himself against the some of the giants of the European game in a competitive setting.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are among the sides already in the last eight yet it was the debutants and English Premier League champions who anxious the 38-year-old goalkeeper the most.

England striker Vardy missed several chances to finish the game but an elated Morgan was delighted by Leicester’s achievement in getting through to the quarter-finals. It’s this kind of grittiness that can make Leicester so effective against this bigger clubs that are expecting run right over them – it can play right into Leicester’s hands if they go about it right like they did on Tuesday night.

“Still, for me, it was a bad decision because we are talking about Claudio Ranieri who did everything very recently with them”.

“Because they’ve gone on to win three consecutive games”. They’ve done it once, they’ll do it again, they’ll let you down again.

However, with Europa League victory also earning automatic Champions League qualification, wins for both Leicester and United would have a knock-on effect to the Premier League.

“A lot of us have come a long way”.

“Obviously it became a really tall order after we went down to 10 men and missed the penalty”.

Kasper Schmeichel was again a hero after he saved Steven N’Zonzi’s second-half penalty minutes after Samir Nasri was sent off for clashing with Jamie Vardy.

‘It was an fantastic evening, I’m proud of all the boys.

A well-organised Leicester worked tirelessly and looked risky from set pieces and it was from a Riyad Mahrez free kick that they took the lead with skipper Morgan bundling the ball into the Sevilla net with his thigh in the 27th minute.

Winger Marc Albrighton doubled the lead in the 54th and put Leicester clear on aggregate by lashing home left-footed from just inside the area after Sevilla defender Adil Rami made a poor headed clearance.

“Incredible, I can’t quite believe it”, he told BT Sport.

“I thought we set the game plan out tremendously and, of course, goals change games”. As a club we can be immensely proud tonight.
