Jessica Gurmeet Kaur, a Singaporean, also had her permanent residency revoked last Friday.
News of Ms Kaur’s sacking from the Attorney-General’s Chambers has created a buzz from Thursday night after sources familiar with her revealed that she had been sacked suddenly.
According to reports, Jessica is expected to file for leave on a judicial review on her termination as well as the revocation of her PR status. It is believed that her children’s residency permit has also been cancelled. They were later released on bail after being questioned.
Jessica’s bail is said to have been revoked last week.
On August 1, Jessica was arrested along with former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) adviser Tan Sri Rashpal Singh and held for a day for questioning in connection with leaks into the 1MDB probe.
A lawyer has noted that Jessica would not be subjected to preventive Malaysian laws such as the Official Secrets Act once she is out of the country.
On Thursday night, photos of immigration personnel waiting outside a condominium in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, where Jessica has been staying, were circulated on the Internet. She headed the task force secretariat, administration and finance department.
The Attorney-General, police, MACC and Bank Negara were part of a special task force investigating the reported deposit of US$700 million into private banking accounts in the name of Najib Razak, the prime minister.

Rashpal, a former member of the MACC advisory board, was said to have met Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown in London regarding information about 1MDB.
