May was speaking outside 10 Downing Street after she attended a meeting with Britain’s top security advisors following the attack which left an armed police officer guarding the Houses of Parliament one of those to die after he was stabbed by a lone terrorist armed with a knife.

Intelligence services group, Soufan, said on Thursday that while recent attacks in Europe lacked the “formal command and control” previously associated with terrorism, “most attackers have engaged in some level of communication, inspiration or even direction from members of groups such as the Islamic State or al Qaeda…”

Prime Minister Theresa May said the attacker was born in the United Kingdom and had been investigated “some years ago”.

However, Mr Milton said his daughter and her friend, who had lived in Whangarei but now lived in Holland, went to London and were sightseeing outside Parliament when the terrorism event happened.

On Wednesday, the assailant drove a auto into people on the Westminster Bridge in London and then crashed the vehicle outside parliament. While at present it is unclear exactly what happened, a London-based journalist said shots were fired and that journalists were confined to the press gallery in the parliamentary building.

The crowd at the vigil in London’s Trafalgar Square for the victims of the attack at Westminster. The other victims were identified as Aysha Frade and USA tourist Kurt Cochran. One woman was released on bail, Reuters reported.

“Those affected include a real cross-section of ages from at least 12 nationalities”, Rowley said. He is thought to have been married with children and worked as an English teacher.

May said, “It is still believed the attacker acted alone and police have no reason to believe there are imminent further attacks on the public”.

Asked about where Masood had been radicalised, Mr Rowley said: “As I have said our investigation focuses on understanding his motivation, preparation and associates”.

He declined to say whether or how those detained were involved in Wednesday’s attack.

During five minutes of mayhem in the heart of London on Wednesday, the accused sped across Westminster Bridge in a auto, plowing into pedestrians.

Khan added that they were also there “to send a clear message: Londoners will never be cowed and by terrorism”.
