The San Fernando Valley representative said he supports Trump’s limited action, adding that President Barack Obama accomplished a lot in Syria, despite not using military action following a similar use of chemical weapons.

Both Tillerson and H.R. McMaster, Trump’s national security adviser, said defeating the Islamic State group remained the administration’s first priority, with the strategy for stabilizing Syria a longer-term political effort that could involve Russian Federation.
Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has cancelled a visit to Moscow next week as tensions grow over events in Syria.
There’s no denying that the images of the Syrian chemical attack victims were gut wrenching.
A U.S. Navy admiral said the missile strikes had destroyed the ability of the Syrian military to launch chemical strikes from the base.
Referring to Russia, Sir Michael wrote: “This latest war crime happened on their watch”.
The two leaders noted the importance of continuing close cooperation in the political and diplomatic settlement of the chronic Syrian civil war, the statement said.
White House officials caution that Mr Trump is not preparing to plunge the USA deeper into Syria. He acknowledged achieving that was “not easy, but not impossible”.
At least six people were killed in the US airstrikes, Syria claimed, but the Pentagon said civilians were not targeted and the missiles were aimed at a Syrian military airfield in Homs.
“We strongly condemn the illegitimate actions by the US”.
He said the United States is hopeful it can help bring parties together to begin the process of hammering out a political solution.
“What Ambassador Haley pointed out was, it’s very hard to figure out how a political solution could result from the continuation of the Assad regime”, McMaster said.
More than 320,000 people have been killed in Syria since the conflict began in March 2011 with anti-government demonstrations.
Foreign Minister Boris Johnson had planned to visit Russian Federation this week but chose to cancel the trip because of fast-moving events in Syria.
He argued it would be best for US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to deliver a “clear and coordinated message” to the Russians during his own visit to Moscow later in the week.
The United States confounded the worldwide community on Thursday night by ordering missile strikes on the Shayrat airfield in Western Syria as a response to last week’s chemical attack in a town in the Idlib province of the country.
The figures come from Idlib’s opposition-run health authority.
Donald Trump has said the USA was “representing the world” when it conducted air strikes on a Syrian military base. At least six people are reported to have died.
“The only reason why Bashar Assad is in power today is because of Russian Federation and Iran – certainly not because of Syrians”, McCain said.

Moscow has further promised to strengthen Syria’s anti-aircraft defences and it is shutting down a hotline with the U.S. created to avoid collisions between their air forces over the country.
