Russell Westbrook tied Oscar Robertson’s record for most triple-doubles in a season with his 41st in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 110-79 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.

Overall, Westbrook has also registered the 78th triple-double of his career and is still climbing in the National Basketball Association all-time list for career triple-doubles.

Westbrook scored 40 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and provided 10 assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder fell to a 113-101 home loss against the Charlotte Hornets.

All told, the Thunder featured six double-figure scorers, including Taj Gibson (12 points), Enes Kanter (17 points, five rebounds), Alex Abrines (12 points) and Domantas Sabonis (11 points). On just 4-of-12 shooting, Westbrook collected 12 points and set a new season-low – he got 10, though, so that’s all that matters.

With the Thunder trailing by one late in the game, Westbrook drained a deep 3-pointer from 26 feet out to give the Thunder a slim 95-93 lead with two minutes left.

His post All-Star averages of 34.3 points, 11.1 rebounds and 11.3 assists per game all are up from his pre-All-Star numbers.

Bucks coach Jason Kidd, who is third on the all-time triple-double list with 107, said Westbrook’s charge toward history had energized the entire Thunder team.

Oklahoma City solidified their hold on the Western Conference’s sixth seed, holding a three and a half game lead over the Grizzlies.

Westbrook will have a chance to break Robertson’s record on Wednesday night against the Grizzlies in Memphis. One of the Most Valuable Players of Thunder is Russell Westbrook, his average score is recorded as 31.9 points, 10.6 rebounds and 10.4 assists per contest.

“It’s one of those nights, a special night, and something I definitely will never forget”, Westbrook said.

The Bulls are the only team Westbrook has yet to log a triple-double against in his 663 career games.

Marc Gasol led Memphis with 23 points, and Zach Randolph had 20 points and nine rebounds.

That led to Memphis carrying a 55-34 lead into the break, Conley collecting 14 points, while Daniels and Randolph scored 12 each.

For Oklahoma City, it’s the beginning of a four-game road trip.

Courtney Lee had 14 points for the Knicks Maurice Ndour had 13 points and 12 boards.

Draymond Green notched his fifth triple double of the season against the Washington Wizards; hitting a three toward the end of the game that put him over the top.

Not only has he played every game, but he has given max effort every single night and has only cared about the number in the win column. These guys do a lot of different things, whether they are screening or making big shots, defensive plays that allow us to get shots that we’ve been getting to close games.
