According to the report, the tortoise is now been kept at the wildlife sanctuary in Highworth, Wiltshire.
His owners explained that they brought the tortoise as pet around 14 years ago when he was a small baby.
They did not know he was a ‘sulcata’ – common enough along the southern edge of the Sahara desert but, more pertinently, the third biggest tortoise species in the world.
After sending him to sanctuary, owners was feeling sad as he loved him very much but was also happy because they knew that he will be good there.
