Storms make a return to the forecast, heavy rain possible

Out of all the days there are rain chances this week, Friday has the highest chance of the storms turning severe. Highs will drop back into the 70s. There are a few showers on radar this afternoon but mainly north and west of Indy as of 1:30 p.m. Monday will start fairly dry with highs returning to the 60s and a few 70s in the afternoon. Those north winds could gust over 20 miles per hour at times today, continuing to filter in the seasonably cool air from the N. Plains.

Sunday our rain chances increase. Scattered rain will be possible for Tuesday through Thursday, with Wednesday the best chance for widespread scattered rain.

This time of year, wind direction is a big factor as ocean temperatures are in the upper 50s. Low around 55. Northeast wind 7 to 9 miles per hour.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 67.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.

Northwest wind at 5 miles per hour. Again, some of the rain could be heavy.

Wednesday.Mostly cloudy with showers and storms likely in the afternoon.

After some morning showers, there will be a “window of opportunity” for green flag racing Sunday afternoon.

Tonight we remain mostly cloudy with temps only falling to either side of 50 degrees. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73 degrees. An isolated rain shower will still be possible. Partly sunny, with a high near 78.

Friday. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 a.m.

NIGHT: Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy.

Periods of dark clouds have threatened showers across the area today, but the mountains are receiving most of the rain.
