Manchester United aim for hat-trick of wins to start season

“Luke Shaw is the first one to recover, Marcos will be last and Ash will be in between”. He has played both the games, assisted two goals and has himself threatened a bit, especially against Brighton. If they wish to indulge Jose and push his team into a losing position on Saturday, they will have to improve their defence, while keeping up their attacking instincts.

As Martial scored his fourth and the final goal of the game-the third in a devastating four-minute spell as United racked up the numbers-the camera panned towards an inert Mourinho nodding his head approving of the result, even failing to notice one of his assistants trying to congratulate him in a celebratory manner.

The Red Devils are undefeated in their last five league meetings against the Foxes.

The Armenian worldwide midfielder is one of several players who must step up, be more consistent and score more as he did in Dortmund, where his final season brought 23 strikes in all competitions.

Anthony Martial has earned some downtime after Manchester United’s terrific start to the Premier League season. However, he has looked isolated at times and has often been surrounded by two or three defenders. Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered his own significant knee ligament damage later in the same match.

Mkhitaryan is expected to start again when United host Leicester on Saturday, in what should be the team’s toughest test so far.

Mourinho is acutely aware of the weapons he has at his disposal.

One player that has been heavily linked in the past week is Monaco’s Thomas Lemar. I want more from him because he has all the qualities for that. “I feel very good and hopefully I can push on now, keep myself fit and get stronger and stronger”.

He respected their threat and worked to nullify it whilst maintaining control of the match.

Mourinho has used the word “confidence” a lot in recent days and his side certainly seem to have a swagger about them. In that match, he was used to bypass the Ajax midfield and negate their high pressing game.

After just two weeks of Premier League fixtures, the league is already beginning to take some shape. But playing such an opponent with so many doubtful starters and after a hectic midweek game is even tougher. United are not there yet.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has changed their pre-match routine this season.

West Ham have also lost their first two league games of the campaign but did at least manage to pick up a win in the League Cup during the week with a victory over League Two side, Cheltenham. Not really; it merely mirrored what United were: A sixth-place team lacking consistency, goals and great moments.
