Putin warns of ‘planetary catastrophe’ over North Korea crisis
“We have to make North Korea change its current policy and understand that there is no bright future if North Korea continues the present policy”, Abe told reporters ahead of his departure.

“We have decisively condemned the launch of the medium-range ballistic missile which flew over Japanese territory on August 28, as well as another nuclear test carried out on September 3”, Putin said.
– The United States is seeking the toughest-ever U.N. sanctions on North Korea that would ban all oil and natural gas exports to the country and freeze all foreign financial assets of the government and its leader, Kim Jong Un.
South Korea and the United States will deploy more of the anti-missile defences hated by China in response to Sunday’s nuclear test by North Korea, Seoul’s defence ministry said on Monday.
USA officials and experts worry Russian President Vladimir Putin’s unhelpful efforts are driven not by the perceived threat of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un but by a perennial quest to boost Russian prestige and leverage at the expense of America.
Speaking at a forum attended by South Korean and Japanese leaders in the far-eastern Russian port city of Vladivostok, Kim Yong Jae, head of the North Korean delegation, blamed the United States for the recent escalation in tensions.
Mr Johnson’s comments came after North Korea’s ambassador in London, Choe Il, was summoned to the Foreign Office for a dressing down from Asia minister Mark Field.
The demand contradicted the stance of their host, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has dismissed sanctions as a solution.
Trump has grown increasingly frustrated with the response of other countries to North Korean provocations. Novak also said that Moscow has not discussed the possibility of curbs on energy supplies to Pyongyang with its worldwide partners. “It doesn’t seem much time is left before North Korea achieves its complete nuclear armament”, the prime minister told a meeting of defence ministers in Seoul on Thursday.
North Korea’s state media marked the nation’s founding anniversary on Saturday with calls for a nuclear arms buildup, in defiance of mounting global sanctions. The Russian leader on Wednesday rejected Moon’s calls to do so.
Putin also said he and Abe discussed the prospect of joint economic activities by their countries on the disputed Kurile islands.
South Korea said it fired several ballistic missiles Monday to simulate an attack on the North’s nuclear test site, followed Tuesday by major live-fire maritime drills. They are both permanent members of the UN Security Council.
Putin also expressed concern that cutting off oil supplies would hurt regular North Koreans, Yoon said.
But cooperation is extremely hard given the ongoing investigations into Trump’s ties to Russian Federation and the USA sanctions for Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, which have triggered a tit-for-tat diplomatic battle.

He said that only a united council can provide the pressure needed to enable successful negotiations to take place to denuclearise the Korean Peninsula.
