Chicago Bears: Different year, same story in close loss to Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones caught his 500 National Football League pass on Sunday during the Falcons’ game against the Chicago Bears. Atlanta took Chicago quarterback Mike Glennon to the ground four times on Sunday afternoon.

The butt of jokes following their epic Super Bowl collapse against New England, the Falcons survived as the Bears missed several chances to score a touchdown in the final seconds. Bears pass rushers Leonard Floyd, Willie Young and Akiem Hicks each finished with at least seven sacks in 2016.

Hooper caught 19 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie a year ago. They didn’t win, no, walking off the field with a 23-17 loss in their season-opening contest against those visiting Atlanta Falcons.

Cohen rushed for 5,619 yards at A&T, setting the school and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference records for yardage. But this season, GM Ryan Pace hoped that White-Pace’s first draft pick after he was hired in 2015-would emerge into a dynamic No. 1 receiver fit to replace Jeffery. In his first game since shedding unlucky jersey No. 13, he left in the fourth quarter after catching two balls for six yards.

The Bears answered on their next drive as Glennon completed 7 of 9 passes for 70 yards, including a 19-yard TD to Cohen, cutting the deficit to 20-17 with 7:26 left in the fourth quarter.

This was a legitimate effort from start to finish by the Bears so expect them to be more competitive than many expected.

Hooper’s second catch was also big – good for 40 yards and a much-needed first down in the fourth quarter. Now sources believe White’s facing a broken collarbone and season-ending surgery. Absolutely”, Ryan said. “Are we gonna try to work on that?

Most of that excitement came from the smallest guy on the field. “The enthusiasm would be a little different”. His next other two incomplete passes went toward a running back and tight end. “And then there’s just a kind of an ‘it factor, ‘ in how you relate to people around you and how people feed off you, that I think was pretty evident early, too”.

After the quarterback situation, the Bears added some key pieces on defense with the likes of cornerback Prince Amukamara and rookie safety Eddie Jackson. Though the result was the same, that belief won’t waver moving forward. I thought we were going to be a special football team from the get-go.
