Yesterday, we got to know that a few offline retailers such as Redington India, Rashi Peripherals, and Brightstar will sell the new iPhones in the country. The pattern should be familiar to anyone: First, Apple reveals the new product with all its very dumb and unnecessary features. But that’s not why we’re here.

The iPhone X isn’t quite the tech leap forward that’s being claimed.
The new iPhone 8 will be similar to the iPhone 7, just with increased speed and capabilities. Craig Federighi, the company’s senior vice-president of software engineering, came onstage to explain the new feature, mapping his own face onto that of a cartoon puppy. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. The screen itself has what they call Super Retina HD, so your selfies will always look on point. The iPhone X (as in “10”), the company’s latest release, is no exception.
You also gain Portrait mode, of course, which produces impressive DSLR-like head shots with blurred backdrops and bokeh effects.
But Apple is betting big on the technology, using it to replace Touch ID for security and Apple Pay payments on the iPhone X handset.
But you don’t have to shell out the entire cost upfront. Even Samsung is slowly and steadily catching upto the trend of supremely high priced flagship devices, like the Galaxy Note 8. As previously reported, the 64GB base model price is $1,319 and increases to $1,529 for the 256GB variant.
The iPhone X will be released on October 27. The iPhone 8 Plus continues to feature a rear dual-camera system, while the iPhone 8 has a single rear camera.
If that’s not enough, the iPhone X boasts wireless charging, a longer-than-ever battery life, and something called Animoji, which we can only begin to imagine. That’s twice as much as the iPhone 7s have. It lacks the 3.5mm input for standard headphones but again comes with an adapter.
So what does Twitter have to say about the so-called “future of the iPhone?” Those two things, combined with a faster processor, are the main differentiators compared to the older 6.
