Pixel 2 devices will debut on October 4 as confirmed by Google
Earlier, rumours made us nearly believe that Google will take the wraps off the phone on October 5 but turns out that the official launch date is a day early, i.e. October 4. Until now that is.

In any event, Google and its carrier partners are finally starting to pickup the pace and we suspect most Pixel and Nexus users will be running Android 8.0 Oreo with the latest security patches before the end of the month.
The Google billboard says simply: “Ask more of your phone” and then the date, October 4.
Evan Blass had said that the second-generation Pixel handsets would be unveiled on October 5, but according to the picture sent to Droid-Life, the reliable leaker was one day out. It means we are only about three weeks away from getting our first official look at the Pixel 2. And since Huawei has stopped making the device, Google has made a decision to offer a better replacement – a spanking new Pixel XL.
Google will need to step up its game to compete with Apple, which on Wednesday debuted the iPhone X and Apple Watch 3 with cellular capabilities that allow the user to leave the phone at home.
Some questions, like the battery, temperature and camera, could be referring to improvements the Pixel 2 will offer.
The “ask more” instruction appears to tease an evolved and improved Google Assistant, one that presumably does more when you ask it for more.

Google Pixel XL 2 was spotted clearing the FCC earlier today. With a percussive electronic piano melody playing in the background, the video shows a series of questions being typed into a Google search box, then closes with the messages, “Funny you should ask” and “Oct. 4th”. On the other hand, industry insiders previously claimed that the Pixel XL 2 will boast a relatively bezel-free design and adopt a display panel with a tall aspect ratio of 18:9, i.e. 2:1.
