Then again, the Home Mini will only cost $49, and it will still come with the Google Assistant built-in. While our main focus is on the second generation Pixel devices, Google is also expected to launch a couple of other products. Amazon’s Echo devices dominate the smart speaker market for smart speakers, and market research indicates the Echo Dot is the leader of the pack. It’s also reportedly gaining new squeeze gestures similar to the HTC U11; HTC is manufacturing the smaller Pixel 2, but both phones are rumored to have the gestures. So, we suggest you stay tuned with us for more updates about Google October 4 event. The model is said to have three storage options with the lowest being 128GB, and the $1200 price point applies to that model. However it looks like Google is now going with the Pixelbook branding, clearly showing that this is no ordinary Chromebook.

The Pixel 2 XL will obviously be more expensive, but retains the same storage configurations. It seems Google will even make its own PixelBook Pen, which should arrive as a $99 optional accessory.

Google has another laptop and it will, according to the rumors, will directly compete against the Microsoft’s Surface Book by adding a backflip touchscreen mechanical lid and support for a pressure-sensitive or force touch and tilt-sensitive stylus. The Pixelbook will come in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage options and come in this lovely silver colour…just like the previous two Chromebook Pixels.

Droid Life also has details on the “new” Daydream View VR headsets. The original Daydream View didn’t have any “smarts” at all in the headset-it was just a cloth-and-plastic phone holder, so we can’t imagine what Google could change there. We imagine the new phones will ship with Android Oreo, the latest version of the operating system. Once live on the Google Store, you should be able to get it right here.
