“Our task now is to hold China and others to these internationally binding obligations and to convince China’s leaders to more fully exert their decisive leverage over North Korea”.

The action is a move to close the ties with the only global actor who seems to be acting as a rebel against the storm.

“However, that weekend, Trump claimed that our leadership wouldn’t be around much longer, and. he declared the war on our country”, Ri said.

China has made growing progress in efforts to denuclearize North Korea, reflecting a shift in its views of the longtime ally, a senior U.S. official said Thursday.

Alarm over Pyongyang’s nuclear and ballistic missile programmes dominated this year’s gathering of world leaders at the United Nations, amid fears the heated rhetoric could accidentally trigger a war. Fyodor Lukyanov, editor of Russian Federation in Global Affairs said that Russian Federation understands what actions North Korea might take. According to the Pentagon, one of its B-1B strategic bombers escorted by F-15 fighters flew over the waters east of the Korean Peninsula last Saturday as a show of military might. A spokesman for the foreign ministry at a daily briefing said it would refer the issue to customs.

China doesn’t want Tillerson’s visit to be consumed by North Korea.

For its part, China has called on both Trump and North Korean strongman Kim Jong-Un to tone down their increasingly bellicose rhetoric and instead try to begin peace talks. Kim fired back by calling Trump a “Dotard”, or an old lunatic, while his foreign minister said Washington had made an “irredeemable mistake” by publicly insulting the paramount leader, and threatened to fire missiles at the USA in retaliation.

When asked which nation would be the biggest threat to the U.S.in 2025, Dunford gave a perhaps unexpected answer: China.

In a press conference yesterday in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said sides “hope to understand that war is not a way out” of United States and North Korean officials’ statements about “war on Korean Peninsula”.

On North Korea, several have questioned the wisdom of Trump’s use of the Twitter social network to threaten the country, saying bellicose messages undercut efforts toward a diplomatic solutions.

Pyongyang conducted its sixth and largest nuclear test on September 3 and has launched dozens of missiles this year as it accelerates a programme aimed at enabling it to target the United States with a nuclear-tipped missile. In recent months, Pyongyang also test-fired intercontinental missiles – saying it needs to defend itself against the threat of a USA invasion.

Thus, the latest sanctions seem to be achieving the UN’s desired effect.
