It marked Troy’s second win over a ranked opponent since the school moved to Division I-A in 2001.

And Troy never trailed. The Tigers lead the all-time series against the Trojans, 2-0, having won home games in 2004 and 2008. “You know it’s one of those things that you would hope would do. and we thankfully did and it was absolutely awesome”, says Parker Guttenshn. “They’re hurting. We’ve got to do some soul-searching”. We’ve got to do some soul searching.

Troy, which is getting paid $985,000 to play LSU tonight, is beating them 17-0.

Troy 17, LSU 7 (END Q3): The Tigers are driving.

Quarterback Danny Etling completed seven of his eleven passes with LSU going into halftime with 97 yards rushing on 15 carries.

Brennan had LSU driving again early in the fourth quarter, but he threw his second interception in parts of two games.

The interception against Syracuse led to a touchdown that drew the Orange within 28-26 before Etling re-entered the game and led a touchdown drive that secured the win. “We lost to the eventual national champion previous year 30-24 and we had a 14-point swing in that game where the ball comes out as Clemson’s going over the goal line and we pick it up and run it back (officials ruled the whistle blew before the fumble)”.

Coach Ed Orgeron addressed the media after the game, saying this is a huge disappointment for LSU. Wide receiver Derrick Dillon fumbled after a 2-yard catch, and Melvin Tyus recovered for Troy.

The move has backfired, as LSU appears headed for its worst season in almost two decades with a 3-2 mark through the end of September.

The tone was set early, when first-time starter at tailback Nick Brossette fumbling away on the game’s first play.

The Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0 SEC) dominated the game in every way possible, churning up 380 yards of offense while holding Tennessee to just 142 and forcing four turnovers (two interceptions and two fumble recoveries). Darrel Williams is a great complementary power back, but he sat out much of the second half Saturday.

“Wanted to give Myles a shot, we needed a boost”, Orgeron said. “We had a win when I was back at Texas Tech in 2010, we ended Oklahoma’s home winning streak”. Five plays later, Silvers kept on a read option and scored from the 1 for a 7-0 lead.

Walking out of Baton Rouge with a W, Troy made sure to add a little insult to injury to LSU via Twitter.

Basketball teams are allowed the 30 days of practice over a 42-day period which will lead to the start of the 2017-18 season on Friday, Nov. 10 against Alcorn State. So, both teams rushed back onto the field. Legassey’s kick hit the crossbar and bounced over. Two plays later, it fumbled a snap to give it back.

Troy 7, LSU 0 (END Q1): The Tigers have 93 offensive yards, including 83 on the ground, but no points to show for it. Troy’s Jordan Chunn probably concurs: The senior tailback ran for a season-high 191 yards on 6.4 yards per carry against the Tigers. Etling connected with Russell Gage on a 34-yards touchdown pass. Josh Anderson got the payoff with a 7-yard run.

At many points LSU, a 2003 and 2007 national champion and 2011 national runner-up that has lost 10 times the last two-plus seasons with an offense usually unwatchable, looked as if it had not taken Troy seriously.

The Trojans took that chance and ran with it.

This was supposed to be a gimme win for LSU on its homecoming weekend.

Somehow, a big, cacophonous sport where Washington State beats No. 5 Southern California on Friday night, and Pullman goes wild and all of that, has come up with two mastodon programs: Clemson and Alabama, Alabama and Clemson. “I think that’s not the way we ought to start the game”.
