Darrell Langham took long road to infamous catch against Florida State

The Seminoles did have their best rushing game of the year, but it was not enough to keep the Hurricanes from earning a last-second 24-20 victory, breaking a 7-game losing streak against Florida State.

He caught Miami’s first touchdown of the game, a 21-yard grab in the third quarter, which came after a 44-yard punt return. It was a wild game that looked like it was going to be another heartbreaker for the Canes, as they’ve had so often against FSU recently.

Sean Savoy had nine catches for 139 yards and a score after No. 1 receiver Cam Phillips went out with an apparent leg injury in the first quarter. The Noles led 3-0 at halftime, but could have led by much more.

“He’s just great, man”.

Wright, a junior Cincinnati transfer who started last fall against Austin Peay but hadn’t played this season, collapsed with about 9 1/2 minutes remaining in the game Kentucky won 40-34.

“We’ll consider [freshman receiver] DeeJay Dallas possibly taking some snaps at that position to help us out, ” Richt added. It was more than just the third loss of the season for Florida State – it was a painful reminder of what this season is becoming. “We work on it every week”, Rosier said. But at the same time, there’s no reason to hang your head after that football game.

Consequently, Miami should consider resting Walton for a week or two. “It was a long time coming for our players, coaches administration, but certainly a long time coming for our fans”. I’m very proud of them.

Richt was just ensuring the team was being respectful of their opponents.

Richt said his players understand “that it’s football, it’s physical, guys get hurt, so I don’t think there will need to be any type of explanation” about Walton.

Florida State got back on the board with a touchdown and field goal in the third quarter, and Miami answered with another Rosier TD to Berrios with 5:09 left. Rosier this season has 126-yards and two touchdowns on 37 carries.

If you watched all of Miami-Florida State, congratulations. Miami is the best team in the state – and the Hurricanes have the nation’s No. 4 recruiting class for 2018. Seminoles defensive back Kyle Meyers was the team’s leading tackler with six stops, while defensive back Stanford Samuels picked off Rosier for his first career interception.

The play itself was something special, especially given that Rosier had struggled mightily through the first two-plus quarters of the game.

Darrell Langham, who caught the 23-yard, winning touchdown pass with 6 seconds remaining, came in and played where Richards would usually line up. The Seminoles ran for more than 200 yards on the day, and Fisher attributed the performance to FSU’s offensive line play.

Florida State took its second lead of the game, when kicker Ricky Aguayo converted a 38-yard field goal to put the Seminoles up three, 13-10, with 6:55 to go in the contest. “We know that there’s more games ahead, including a tough matchup away against Duke, so we’ll take 24 hours to recover from the loss and get back to work on Monday”.
