It took Joel Embiid a few years to start truly making his mark in the National Basketball Association but, as of Thursday, he’s now an All-Star. and an All-Star starter at that.

Dario Saric scored 16 for Philadelphia, which won for the sixth time in seven games and ended a three-game losing streak against Boston.

The Sixers built a 21-point advantage in the second half, but they have had trouble holding onto double-digit leads all season.

He celebrated by dominating the Celtics and finding some time to diss Rihanna, whom he wanted to date in the past.

A week ago, the Philadelphia 76ers blew a 22-point lead and fell to the Boston Celtics in London.

All of that build-up to this – in their conversation (below), Ngannou said of Embiid “he should be my next opponent”. “We were just physical”.

– Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown, who scored 12 points on 4-for-12 shooting, admitted that he won’t be rooting for the New England Patriots in their AFC Championship matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The Sixers, meanwhile, will aim for a third straight win Saturday when Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks pay a visit to Wells Fargo Center.

“I’ve just got to be a lot more definitive in my decisions because teams are trying to double me and get the ball out of my hands”, Irving said. The Sixers look primed to stay above the playoff line, as they have already faced their brutal part of the schedule and still are in the playoff mix.

For all that went Philly’s way on Thursday, you still have to give a great deal of credit to Joel Embiid for his play at both ends of the floor. T.J. made four-consecutive field goals and open shots off Embiid assists.

Whether Kyrie Irving was playing or not, the Sixers entered TD Garden with revenge on their mind and it showed as they held off the Celtics in an 89-80 win. “For whatever reason, we’ve been sloppy on offense”, Horford said. No team wants to fall victim to a “too-little-too-late” scenario.

He then tweeted suggesting the singer would accept his offer on one condition: “Come back when you’re an All Star”. He is the first Sixers All-Star since Jrue Holiday in 2013. “I just thought it would be best just to take a day or two to get it evaluated and meet with our medical staff, meet with my strength and conditioning coach, and strengthen it up”.
