Baker Mayfield weighing decision to play in Senior Bowl
The Broncos had specifically requested Mayfield for their roster as the team is in the market for a new quarterback.

Rosen and Darnold, as underclassmen, aren’t eligible to play here, and that’ll give both Allen and Mayfield the chance to make a first impression on all the guys who’ll be poking and prodding them over the next three months.
As a result, Mayfield came to the Senior Bowl looking to show the NFL’s talent evaluators, who may have concerns about everything from those incidents to his size – he measured 6-foot-3/8 inches and weighed 216 pounds on Tuesday – to the offense he played in, that he believes he can be a no-nonsense grinder and capable leader.
Allen has John Elway’s type of quarterback oozing all through his talented body.
“You watch [Saints QB] Drew Brees play”, Joseph said.
“I’ve heard everything from second round to free agent”, said Corbett, who walked on at Nevada before becoming a four-year starter. “So going out there and making sure my stride’s right and my sequencing is all in pattern and delivering a good, catchable ball”.
Uchenna Nwosu, EDGE, USC: Steady and productive, Nwosu emerged as the Trojans’ top pass-rusher this fall, and is widely seen as a great kid who plays his ass off.
The Detroit Lions backfield is expected to look different in 2018.
The intense scrutiny of Baker Mayfield’s path to the NFL Draft ramped up today as he took reps at Senior Bowl practice with Hall of Famer John Elway studying him from 10 feet away.
One of his primary goals is to “relax” on the field while displaying a heightened maturity level. After throwing for 3,203 yards and 28 touchdowns his sophomore season, Allen was limited to just 1,812 yards and 16 touchdowns his junior campaign. Good players figure it out.
“I’m way more accurate than that [statistic] shows”, Allen confidently said prior to Tuesday’s weigh-in and North Team practices later in the day. I don’t know the book yet. “In a game, I don’t think I’ve pushed it that far – probably 60, 65 yards in the air”. “It’s led me to be a better man”. Allen needs more consistent accuracy.
And he’s a marvelous athlete.
“Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield continues to show people that when it comes to timing, touch and anticipation, he has all the stuff”.
“I’ll be honest with you”, Dorsey said. We saw him make some of those throws in the Potato Bowl, but unfortunately they are more rare than you’d like to see. Not only what we see on tape but find out what they’re made of and how big their heart is, what football means to them.
“She’s slowly getting better”.
Mayfield is an off-the-charts competitor who has a Pete Rose-type personality that can alienate foes; inspire friends. “I want a guy with confidence”. We’re talking “I’m trying to throw the ball back to the quarterbacks coach and I sail it over his head bad”. For all those guys across the nation, there are a lot of schools that kind of get looked over sometimes. Here are a few things we learned in keeping up with Allen, who is being watched as closely by National Football League clubs as any prospect in Mobile this week, for his entire session with reporters.

Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen is projected to be one of the top handful of picks in this year’s draft. There’s not much I can say about Allen that hasn’t already been repeated ad nauseam, but I think he’ll have a good week, much to the chagrin of his detractors.
