Some school districts have already announced they will be closed on Wednesday. Clouds will be on the increase during the afternoon as a weak system sweeps across the region. The snow may be heavy at times.

Major changes were made to the overall snow forecast on Wednesday afternoon. Monday’s high is expected to be 48 degrees with an overnight low of 16 degrees, Danielsen said.

Farther north and east, the storm is still expected to drop 12″+ of snow on the Hi-Line and across central Montana”. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

A sizable snowfall will hit us Wednesday. The service predicts an accumulation of anywhere between 3 and 10 inches, depending on where the notice was posted. Light freezing rain & drizzle will also be possible by mid-afternoon, mainly northwest of the Metroplex.

Some rain could mix in at the immediate coast, lowering snowfall totals. The vast majority of this storm will be snow. This wintry mix, combined with road temperatures around freezing will create hazardous road conditions so make sure to take it slow if you are traveling anywhere. The heaviest snow is expected to fall from around 11am-4pm. The snow is expected to end rapidly in the early morning. Travel will be greatly impacted.

We start off the evening with snow for the region. A few lingering snow showers are possible Wednesday night.

An occasional flurry will be possible Thursday, however, the snow chances are going to be very minimal during the daytime hours. Highs will reach the mid to upper 20s.
