Body of woman stolen from casket at San Antonio funeral home

A family is desperately searching for their daughter’s body, which was stolen from a casket at a San Antonio funeral home. “It’s really quite concerning”, said SAPD Sgt.

“I don’t think many people would have the courage to do something like this”, Salazar said.

Mott’s body was taken into a private visitation area following a funeral service, and that’s when someone broke into the casket. The funeral home was locked up and secured around 4:30 p.m.

Investigators said there was no signs of forced entry. Salazar. “And so we’re hoping that the public that hears about this case may be able to shed some light on it”.

Funeral home officials said there was no indication of a break-in and police suspect the person stole the body during business hours. Salazar. “Her remains had been removed”.

Mortuary owner Robert Tips, who says the Motts are close friends of his, says the woman died August . 8 of cystic fibrosis and that Mott’s family had planned to have her body cremated. The number to call is 210-225-TIPS (8477).
