After many leaks and rumors, Asus has finally launched it’s ZenFone 5 Series at MWC 2018 in Barcelona. While most previous devices from Asus ZenFone line have looked a bit dated, these both looked and felt like a cutting-edge device.

The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with the ZenUI 5.0.

The ZenFone 5 family includes the ZenFone 5 Lite, 5, and 5Z.

The Zenfone 5 Lite comes with four camera dual lens setup at the front and as well as the rear.

The Zenfone 5 Lite has two cameras up front and two around back.

Both the 5 and 5z have the same camera setups, with one 12MP camera with “Sony Flagship IMX 363 image sensor” and F1.8 aperture, 83-degree field of view, 24mm focal length, and LED flash. Will you be waiting until July to get your hands on one? It also comes with the popular face unlock feature along with some beautification features. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC and GPS/A-GPS.

The phone also features a 3,300mAh battery and charges through a micro-USB port. The phone will be powered by a 3300mAh battery with “BoostMaster” and “AI Charging”.

MobileSyrup has reached out to Asus for Canadian pricing and availability and will update this article when it arrives. Both the ZenFone 5 lineup smartphones more or less come with nearly the same specifications, apart from some hardware change here and there. The ZenFone 5Z may well end up being the cheapest SD845 available on the market and as such should be considered if you are looking for a value for money phone.

The phone is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Soc with Adreno 630 GPU. There are two RAM variants, 4GB and 6GB coupled with just a single storage combination, 64GB. These devices have one of three combinations of RAM and internal storage: 2GB/16GB, 2GB/32GB, or 3GB/32GB. It will be available in Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver colour variants. At the back, the Zenfone 5 Lite is likely to pack a pair of 20-megapixel sensors, while up front there will be a pair of 16-megapixel sensors. Exact pricing details are now up in the air too, so we can’t judge the Zenfone 5 too much yet. According to Asus, its notch is 26% smaller, allowing for a more significant screen-to-body ratio and a larger screen size. Asus Zenfone 5 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, while Zenfone 5Z runs on the Snapdragon 845.

The other model has a Snapdragon 430 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The body of the Zenfone 5 Lite is built of aluminium which makes it both light as well as durable. There are three slots once again – 2 SIM card slots and a microSD slot. You can take wide angle shots of course, capturing more of your surroundings with relatively minimal barrel distortion. In addition, it’s also worked hard to add a load of AI features to the camera. They can record full HD videos as well. The lineup ranges from flagships to a budget device with a high capacity battery. But ASUS says this is the first instance that the chip’s AI capabilities have been unlocked for a phone. Also, the Zenmoji doesn’t work on current devices.
