Tiger Woods headlines intriguing field for 2018 Masters Tournament

Only five men have won all four modern majors, with Woods the only active player.

“This is a little bit like a Lazarus resurrection here with respect to where he was”, Steve Mona, World Golf Foundation CEO, told Reuters. Since Caldwell is unable to play golf of any kind, Miller wanted to find another way to help.

Tied at the turn, Garcia dropped shots on the 10th and 11th holes, and everyone could feel this Masters slipping away, just like so many other majors.

“He is certainly in form”.

“It’s magnified I think here because of the precision needed”, Tirico added. “I need to make sure I’m in the right frame of mind and trusting what we’re trying to do and not second-guessing anything”. With Rory McIlroy’s recent success as well as a rejuvenated Tiger Woods, McGinley has never been as excited for a Masters tournament.

Can he win? It seems like such an absurd thought considering where Woods was even a year ago. Woods underwent a fusion surgery in April 2017, but has been showing tremendous signs that he is ready to return to the top of the leaderboards week in and week out.

Shaking off years of competitive rust, Woods returned with an encouraging tie for ninth at the Hero World Challenge followed by a tie for 23rd at the Farmers Insurance Open and a missed cut at the Genesis Open.

That Sunday roar was simply foreshadowing for his latest performance, where Woods birdied six holes in the final round at the Arnold Palmer Invitation, culminating in a T-5 finish.

Won in the past by the likes of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia and Vijay Singh, the Masters is the biggest and the most prestigious tournament in Golf.

“Now that he’s back and he looks kind of where he was before, or he potentially can be, I think everyone’s getting that taste back”.

Day admitted such intense attention on Woods will benefit other Masters contenders. I know at Match Play a couple weeks ago my whole focus was energy.

For golf fans, there’s nothing like watching Tiger Woods in his Sunday red, roaring through the back nine and contending at a golf tournament.

Jack Nicklaus, 46 when he won his 18th and last major title at Augusta in 1986, is the oldest Masters champion.

There might not be quite so many happy faces around the place come Sunday if, as some are predicting, the 14-times major victor can cap a fairytale comeback by adding a fifth Green Jacket to his collection.

“There are things behind closed doors that people don’t know about that we don’t talk about that can cause you to be in a good or bad frame of mind”.

Augusta National also warns potential scalpers looking to deal their tickets at the Masters that “anyone caught buying, selling or handing off tickets within a 2,700 foot boundary around the Augusta National could face misdemeanor charges or get a ride in a police auto”.
