Cristiano Ronaldo made history with his first goal of the night, prodding home Isco’s cross to become the first player to score in 10 consecutive Champions League games.
With his two-goal performance, Ronaldo took his tally to 39 goals across all competitions for two-time reigning European champions Madrid this season.
Just as the initiative appeared to be shifting to Juventus, Chiellini and custodian Gianluigi Buffon combined to mishandle what should have been an easy clearance, setting the stage for Ronaldo to work his magic.
Zidane lifted Los Blancos to a 2-1 win over the Germans at Hampden Park, with his sublime left-footed volley from a Roberto Carlos cross proving one of the memorable moments in Champions League history.
Twitter users quickly heaped praise on what some of them described as an “outrageous and beautiful” goal by Ronaldo.
“I’ve been looking for it for a long time but they are part of the game”. It just came into my head to do it and I caught the ball well.”Other times it has gone wrong, but you have to always try”. The Brazilian left-back added a third in the second half to give Juventus a mountainous challenge when they travel to the Bernabeu on April 11.
Ronaldo thanked Juventus fans for their “amazing” reaction in applauding his spectacular bicycle kick.
“The Juventus fans applauded Ronaldo but also for his team”, said Zidane.
“It’s a really good result ahead of the return leg and it was also important that we’ve kept a clean sheet”.
“Great goal, what can I say?”
Before then, Real face city rivals Atletico Madrid in a Sunday derby – with Juventus playing Serie A’s bottom team Benevento on Saturday.

The fame and calibre of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo need no retelling. What’s more impressive is the fact Ibrahimovic’s bicycle-kick was the fourth goal he scored against England that day.
