Garcia’s goal in the 40th minute, on a through ball from Bruin off a recycled corner kick, and then Bruin’s, on another nice feed, this time from Brad Davis, were the only Dynamo shots on goal in the half.
The Portland Timbers came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw in their MLS clash against the Houston Dynamo at Providence Park.
The Timbers are knotted with Sporting Kansas City for third in the Western Conference.
“Those 45 minutes might be the most important 45 minutes this season because we had to dig deep as a team”, Timbers coach Caleb Porter said.
The Timbers were the first to threaten as Diego Valeri raided to the edge of the box and fired an effort at goal, but Tyler Deric was on hand to make the save. Melano was credited with the assist.
We also have our weekly look at injuries and practice updates from Will, Chris previews the match with Houston, and we talk about about Nat Borchers’ contribution to the Portland Timbers overall success to the 2015 season. He was replaced by Kofi Sarkodie.
Beasley has been called up by the U.S. national team for a pair of exhibitions next month against Peru and Brazil, U.S. Soccer announced on Thursday.
The game marked the first start for Nigerian midfielder Rasheed Olabiyi, signed by the Dynamo in July.
In the end, the Dynamo were forced to settle for a share of points after a second-half onslaught by the Timbers.

“I think that we’re all square”. The first-year Dynamo coach said seeing out a lead takes a toughness his evolving squad is still learning. As always, if you have topic suggestions or just other thoughts in general about the show, please email me at the address noted below. “I’m just happy that my goal was able to help the team in that way”. The Dynamo fell 2-0 to New England at Gillette Stadium last weekend, snapping a three-game unbeaten run.
