Art exhibition of new work

Cassie Lindgren all showcased their art. A few of the pieces I have drawn special on commission in the past and others are just for viewers to enjoy.

Co-curator Joy Kim (Communication ’18) said she and Tiwari found inspiration for the exhibit’s theme through a conversation with a friend involved in the “music scene” on campus.

“It’s 52-by-72 inches high”, said Lindgren.

Uche-Nwanne told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the public should stop thinking that those that studied and practice arts had wasted their time. “We had somebody do some prints the other week”, Executive Director Anne Makepeace said.

“If students created a series of works that are not just one-off but are part of a larger portfolio, they can drop off those works to be considered for Doane prizes”, Miller said.

Our favorite, enigmatic, out-there artist Marina Abramovic is one-upping herself once again with a new twist to her performances. I try to go to a place where it’s soulful, it kind of has a lot of pleasures and pains all mixed up together. On Saturday, local author Cathy Gohlke will be signing her latest book, “Until We Find Home”, and there will also be a creative writing reading in conjunction with Cecil College later in the day. “(I focus in) ceramics usually, and I have quite a bit of those”. “I think affording the artist a professional gallery space with good lighting and a hanging system to best show off, and sell their work, is a much-needed service in Cayman”, says Ward. “I want to be an artist”.

I took the title from the fact that I was listening to Miles Davis, this piece called “Seven Steps”, so “Seven Steps East”.

While Peck now focuses on painting and sculpture, photography used to be his main medium, so for his piece he selected the blurry, surreal-looking black and white photo, Self Portrait in Headlights.

“In a way it’s a minimally curated show, so it’s an unusually democratic process”, Stallings said.

Additional events include a discussion at Alphabet City, programs at California University and an exhibition at Phipps.

Beebe said Bertrand is very symbolic of him. A lover of pop art, she uses colorful and sharp imagery, working with acrylic and oil paint, printmaking and digital and hand drawing.

He said it was nice to be able to utilize the gallery space to their full extent.

“It’s empowering because the way that he’s standing in the photo and how he’s just looking straight at you makes you see that he’s realizing his identity”, said Keating.
