Service outage leaves Fortnite players unable to log
Epic Games, the makers of Fortnite, have confirmed that the game is now down for the foreseeable future for “emergency maintenance” due to upgrades taking place on their database.

No, it’s not just you – no one can play Fortnite right now. Following yesterday’s lengthy downtime period, during which Epic Games carried out some “emergency maintenance”, I imagine many players are anxious that it will go down again.
There’s no clear release date for the Port-a-Fort, but Epic recently revealed that Fortnite will be getting bi-weekly content updates that don’t require patches, so be sure to keep an eye out for the foreseeable. We’re sorry. We know how frustrating this has been. This will cause more downtime, although it will be a part of a new update.
Fortnite update 3.5.1 introduces fixes for issues that have been introduced by the 3.5 update in both Battle Royale and Save the World. With the weekend almost upon us, hopefully these tweaks are enough to keep gameplay stable for your free time. “We now have no ETA on when the servers will be back up” said Epic Games over Twitter.
According to a Reddit post by an Epic representative, the downtime occurred due to a “critical failure with one of [the] account service databases”. We’ve had this problem ourselves, and even using Epic’s one-time password feature didn’t help (the system sends you an email with a password you can use to login once). It still doesn’t sound like the company is close to fixing the database issue, though.
Apparently, the Guided Missiles on the Fortnite: Battle Royale game won’t be reactivated until the bug is gone from the patch and in order to remove the same bug from the game, they have started working for a fix.
If you look at the Fortnite map, you’ll see that there are three very small boats on Loot Lake, and they form a triangle with the island directly in the middle.

Fortnite’s 50v50 mode, which made a brief appearance last December, adds a twist to gameplay by continuing until all players on one 50-player side have been eliminated.
