Watches are issued by the Storm Prediction Center for counties where tornadoes may occur. Several trees were snapped or uprooted. “Whether this was high winds or a tornado, we’re unsure of”. ABC11 is in First Alert Mode as a Tornado Watch and Flash Flood Warning has been issued for parts of central North Carolina.
The National Weather Service will investigate Monday whether a tornado touched down in the Midlands.
The warning advises people to seek shelter inside a sturdy building and stay away from windows. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
Do not use elevators.
Remain in place of shelter until you are notified that the hazard has passed.
