The Huskies only registered five baserunners against Union Local in their Buckeye 8 softball encounter, but four of them scored in a 4-3 victory at Sally Buffalo Park.

Morehead State logged 10 hits off the bats of six different Eagles in the win. “We’ve never had nine hits off of Maple before”.

The Wildcats got a run back in the bottom of the sixth on a two-out single by Katie Kroll to score Andrea Rains. King and junior right fielder Dan Chmielewski were both 1-for-4.
Despite being winless, the Dover High School softball team proved over its first two games that it could score some runs. The senior right-hander went six innings, allowing eight runs on ten hits and striking out one. Long in relief went five innings and both runs she gave up were unearned. The senior walked the following batter but managed to regain composure and get a fly out to wrap up the Eagles’ 3-2 victory.
In the third inning, Mikala Hayes walked, scoring on a triple by Kasarda. The first game started off great with yet another DiMeo home run, which was her sixth of the season.
Vanessa Anderson went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in the first game. MSU tied it an inning later with Iverson starting the rally with a double to left center.
The Eagles scored 11 runs in the first inning and delivered the visiting Cardinals their first loss in the bottom of the third.
The Tigers, who were the home team, took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Tory Anderson reached on a two-out error and scored on Ogren’s single. The Eagles added their third run in the fourth inning off a single from Angel Schilke. At this time, Drexel replied with a run of their own after a home run by freshman Kristi DiMeo.
Carlinville tallied two more runs in the seventh inning. Aubrey Ballou, Kaitlyn Czajkowski and Payton Robinson all had two RBI’s in the opening game.

The series was originally scheduled for three games in Mount Pleasant to be played on Friday and Saturday, but weather in Mount Pleasant forced a relocation of Friday’s games and a postponement of game three.
