The veteran skipper was well supported by opener Rayudu, who slammed four boundaries and eight sixes as CSK took their points tally to 10, while RCB remained in the sixth spot with four points. He found an able ally in Quinton de Kock who made a brilliant 53 off 37 balls.

Needing 16 off the last over, Dwayne Bravo (14 not out) hit Anderson for a four and six off the first two deliveries to ease out pressure.
A single to point then brought Chennai captain Dhoni on strike and he wasted no time in finishing the job, going across his stumps and smoking the ball for six over long-on in his trademark fashion.

But it wasn’t to be enough; Chennai now leap back to the top of the IPL 11 table with their fifth win in six – three of those have been stunning run-chases where they’ve required more than 50 runs from the final four overs in each.
