NYS Democrats gain two Senate seats, struggle to regain the majority

Republicans must defend their control of both houses in Congress while Democrats seek to stabilize their national position after what can only be described as an embarrassing 2016 election cycle.

Opinions are more divided about whether congressional districts are fairly determined: 49% say fairly drawn congressional districts describes US elections very or somewhat well; just as many (49%) say this describes USA elections not too or not at all well (49%).
