The rest of this star-studded, second-round matchup between the Winnipeg Jets and the Nashville Predators is going to look more like the track meet we saw in Sunday’s Game 2 than the suffocating display of Friday’s series opener. He’s got that kind of shot. The FiST line had the game victor, the JoFA line generated three goals and five assists… the big guns came to play. But just as they’ve done all year long, the Jets processed the result and started preparing for the next battle.

The over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings. It was his 3rd goal of the postseason this year.

Although the Jets fired home three goals on five shots on goal in the opening six minutes of the second period, Predators goalie Pekka Rinne also got himself into the groove and made several important saves to keep his team well within striking distance. Nashville has gone 27-17 on the road and a have averaged 3.05 gpg and have allowed 2.43 gpg in those games. With that in mind, he was about as unsung a hero as the Bruins could have found in Game 5 of the first round last season, during which he scored two goals, including the tying tally and overtime victor.

The Jets appeared to take a 3-2 late in the second period when Andrew Copp put the puck in the net on a rebound.

“I had so much fun and wanted to continue to support the team by asking a few of my friends to get in on the action”, Carrie then continued.

It’s important to note that the first two games have been in Nashville, and home ice advantage does give the Predators an advantage, but looking at the actual shot volume in the series inside and outside the slot, things don’t look too great for Winnipeg so far.

It had a bit of everything, including attractive goals, big hits, a late comeback by the visitors and a double overtime game-winning goal from the home side.

The goal was a show of strength as he skated in unimpeded and muscled a blast from the right faceoff circle past Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.

Nashville (+115) is playing the role of underdog to Winnipeg (-135), and the Over/Under (O/U) is set at 6 goals. Stealing a game in Winnipeg would be a good start.

Teams were put at four aside after this horrendous penalty call.

In Washington, Alex Ovechkin notched his seventh goal of the playoffs while the Capitals were building a 3-0 lead in a 4-1 win over the visiting Pens. The way this team has responded to adversity since last year’s playoffs, I think they come out with new sense of urgency in this next game. The Jets have averaged a strong 3.82 gpg here at home for the year, while the Preds have put up a solid 3.05 gpg on the road. I’m not saying I’ll do that all series, but it is a suggestion. The Predators are 6-1 in their last seven games on Tuesdays.
