Friday is deadline to register to vote in Primary Election
The Election Commissioner’s office is open week-days from 8 a.m.to 4 p.m. and will be open from 8 a.m.to 6 p.m.

First, there are the General Election for schools and cities. County officers are limited to two terms or eight years of service in a period of twelve years.

Registered voters in Kentucky can now begin casting absentee ballots in the May 22 primary elections. Questions about ID or other election matters can be directed to the Morgan County Clerk’s office at 304-258-8547 or the West Virginia Secretary of State’s office at 304-558-6000. “The top three vote-getters will advance to the November elections”, said Stokes County Board of Elections Director, Jason Perry.

While turnout is projected to be lower than 2016’s presidential primary, there are still several big races to be decided, including Issue 1’s Congressional redistricting reform measure and the Republican and Democratic gubernatorial primaries. Of 18 races on the ballot, Republicans are contesting four. There are no Democratic candidates. No Republican is seeking the seat. Robert Hudson, an independent candidate, will be on the ballot with them. It will also show your Election Day polling place.
