People will bear the May heat, but not Congress govt, says PM

The Congress on Wednesday said its president Rahul Gandhi has not shown any disrespect towards JD (S) supremo H D Deve Gowda as stated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The number could go up to 21”, the one of the two BJP leaders said. “Chief Ministers of other states too will attend the event”, he said.

While the Congress trended the hashtag Answermadimodi (Modi must answer), the BJP shot back using #NammaModi (Our man Modi) on May 1. It would give young Gandhi much more confidence and determination to take on the BJP and Modi in the 2019 battle. “He spoke at a rally in Belagavi”.

“You may not be able to speak the truth, but at least you can keep quiet, ” Modi said. Did he speak anything about farmers? No. Each political party is trying to outsmart the other in its own way, and the campaign has been colourful, literally and metaphorically speaking.

In an interview to Deccan Herald, the Congress chief said, “I am even saying that the BJP view is a fact in India, and I don’t want a BJP-mukt Bharat”. Gowda, however, stressed that he continues to have differences with the PM.

While several parties like the Janata Dal (United) and the NCP are also are trying their respective luck, but a lot of them are going to be more spoilers rather being a force to reckon with. “They kept on asking proof of the strikes from me”. However, when I went to him with a plea to intervene in the Mahadayi issue, he just listened and did not utter a word.

Drawing a distinction between UP and Karnataka, the Congress president said: “The people of Karnataka have an old tradition of respect, carrying everyone together”.

“Shockingly, Modi Government has now become the benefactor, protector, defender of the “Bellary Gang” responsible for denuding Kannadigas of their rich natural resources through a puppet CBI”, Shukla asked. At a rally in Mandya, Gandhi had said, “Earlier, the “S” in JD (S) stood for secular, but now they have got a new name – Janata Dal Sangh Parivar”.

He came down heavily on Congress leaders who sought evidence of surgical strikes.

In an interaction that lasted over half-an-hour on the NaMo app, the Prime Minister talked about various central schemes, Congress’ failure and why the people of Karnataka needed to elect a better government. Later, at a second back-to-back rally in Ballari, the PM accused the ruling party of practising vote-bank politics to secure its electoral fortunes. “Both are on the same footing”. “He brought in the Anti-Corruption Bureau”, he quipped.

Not many are willing to believe Deve Gowda’s claim that his party won’t have ties with the BJP.
