Well, at least according to Google, which is why today at Google I/O, the company announced a new Gmail feature called Smart Compose. That feature offers three quick replies to an email based on its content, so if someone asks if you want to meet somewhere, it might suggest “yes”, “no”, and “maybe”.

Smart Compose will allow Gmail users to quickly draft emails by predicting the greeting and closing as well as common phrases in between. The smart reply is now only available for users that have enabled the new Gmail. Coming to Maps, Google has introduced a slew of new features for the navigation app. The company is constantly working to add new features, options, and functionality to improve the whole experience, and now it’s time for the Gmail iOS app to get a treat.
This is an extension to the “Smart Reply” feature launched a year ago, which suggests three responses based on the email received in Inbox by Gmail and Allo. These suggested actions are said to be powered by machine learning that means you will only see them with relevant photos. With this feature, Assistant will be able to understand complex queries like “What’s the weather like in NY and in Austin?” more easily. Smart Compose will obviously save you a lot of time, by cutting back on repetitive writing, and it also reduces the chance of spelling or grammar errors.
Google Assistant are also arriving to Google Maps after this summer, within a variety of new features in Maps at the forthcoming months to become “more assistive and private”.
Google has also stepped up Gmail’s security, with bigger warnings about suspicious messages.

To use it, click “Try the new Gmail” under the Settings tab, and under General select “experimental access”. The feature will suggest sentences based on the first few words typed by the composer.
