Google has kicked off its annual I/O developer conference in California and successfully completed the first day of the event with several exciting announcements.

Volvo is planning to include Google Assistant, Google Play Store, and Google Maps at a minimum in their system and other apps may join them in the future.

The computer-generated voice is “very clear and sounds very much like human speech”, according to the BBC. Google said it will also make it easier to subscribe to news organizations directly from its app store, taking another swing at streamlining the subscription process.

ANDROID P: The version of Google’s Android phone software will infuse basic functions with AI smarts. Other than Google’s default apps and services, the Sensus infotainment system will have access to thousands of additional apps via the Google Play Store, which is optimised and adapted for Android-based auto infotainment systems. The new App Actions feature will help the user to get to the next tasks by quickly predicting what they might want to do next.

The new version of Google News will start rolling out immediately and should be available globally on Android, iOS and desktop within the coming weeks.

However, if you’re a highly curious tinkerer with a Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 or Pixel XL you can download and install it today.

With all these new upgrades and products, Google is making a strong foothold in the market showcasing its revolutionary artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities. So, if an app is running in the background, it won’t be able to record any audio, video, or gather data from devices such as the gyroscope or accelerometer. This prioritizes battery power for the apps and services used the most and learns how the user sets the brightness slider based on their surroundings.

One of the unbelievable features of Assistant demoed at I/O conference was Google Duplex, which showed that Assistant would be able to make phones calls for us.

How well it will work in the real world remains to be seen. For outlets with subscriptions, Google will allow you to subscribe directly through your Google account, without needing new passwords or credit card information. This feature automatically send your device to the Do Not Disturb mode.
