Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that German automaker Mercedes-Benz has acquired the naming rights for the stadium, which is expected to be complete by 2017. It will officially sign the contract Friday, August 21, and expects to announce the partnership Monday, August 24.
The Falcons’ new stadium is under construction and set to feature an angular design and expandable seating that could accommodate as many as 83,000 people.
The $1.5B stadium, designed by HOK, opens in ’17. It will be the second NFL stadium for which the company will hold naming rights. It would also be the home stadium of Atlanta United FC, a Major League Soccer expansion franchise also owned by Falcons owner Arthur Blank, and play host to the 2020 NCAA men’s basketball Final Four.
Add another NFC South building to the Mercedes-Benz titles…
Mercedes-Benz USA moved its headquarters from its longtime post in New Jersey to Atlanta at the beginning of this year.

And if a LeBron James tweet is worth 0,000, this article should at least be worth a Mercedes-Benz T-shirt.
