For decades, world leaders located their embassies in Tel Aviv to assuage Palestinians.

US officials said last week that Trump’s delegation was not planning on meeting Palestinian officials during their visit.

Some 35,000 Palestinians have gathered at 10 different points along the border to protest the moving of the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the disputed city of Jerusalem.

Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, noted he’s the grandson of holocaust survivors.

Erdogan was also deeply critical of US President Donald Trump’s decision this month to withdraw Washington from the Iran nuclear deal. The Palestinians seek to make East Jerusalem the capital of a Palestinian state.

Some 800 guests were attending the ceremony.

Mansour said the “massacre” was occurring as the USA “illegally and unilateraly and in a provocative way is opening its embassy”.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on the other hand, praised Trump’s “bold decision” and called the move “the right thing to do”. A great day for the state of Israel.

Thousands of Palestinians are gathering for a protest along the perimeter fence that separates Israel and the Gaza Strip on Monday.

This is not the first time Israeli forces killed a handicapped protester. Nearly 2000 were injured, over 900 with live ammunition.

The Arab League said it would hold an “extraordinary meeting” on Wednesday to discuss the “illegal” move, the Middle East News Agency MENA reported on Monday. “The Israeli authorities show no signs they intend to rein in excessive force”. The warning said the army is “prepared to face all scenarios and will act against every attempt to damage the security fence or harm IDF soldiers or Israeli civilians”.

Weekly demonstrations at the border for the past seven weeks, which led to more than 50 deaths and over 9,000 injuries, were promoted as a buildup to Monday’s event.

The club’s ultras or hardcore fans, known as “La Familia”, routinely chant anti-Arab and anti-Muslim slogans during matches, for which the team has previously been penalized.

Kushner wasn’t the only speaker to commend the embassy move as a sign of peace, while failing to address the reality of the deadly protests taking place nearby.

Widespread global condemnation is expected following the embassy opening.

“Israelis began celebrating on Sunday, as tens of thousands of marched in Jerusalem, some holding American flags, to mark Jerusalem Day”.

“Unfortunately, the US has arrogantly stood by the Israeli administration which kills civilians and has partnered in this crime against humanity”, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim told reporters in Ankara.
