Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho denies competing with Man Utd for Pedro

World Cup and European Championship victor Pedro has been described as “one of the best attacking players in the world”.

Selling Pedro does represent a risky move for Barcelona, given its inability to replace him until January due to a transfer ban for 2015 as punishment for breaking Federation Internationale de Football Association rules on the signing of underage players.

And Mourinho says his bid for self-improvement is now extending to the gym.

Fletcher knows exactly what it’s like having to keep your cool when all around are losing theirs.

“We want to do better and the only way is to work well and better than ever, which we did this week”.

Chelsea’s next game is against West Brom this weekend and Mourinho will be hoping things will turn around for his side most especially after the shocking arrival of Pedro Rodriguez from Barcelona during the week.

“He is a huge player for us, we will not talk about offers”, he said.

“It is a joke what you just said”.

Last Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at Manchester City turned the spotlight firmly on Mourinho and his players, with the manager’s decision to substitute captain John Terry at half-time interpreted in some quarters as an expression of frustration at the club’s failure to strengthen his squad sufficiently.

“I’m not happy with my form”, Mourinho said.

Pellegrini said, “I think we needed another centre-back”. Managers will be clever and use that.

“There’s a crisis at every Premier League team!” he quipped.

The Spain forward signed for £21m from Barcelona on Thursday, with the Barclays Premier League champions swooping for a player United had pursued for around a month.

Does Tony Pulis have the measure of Jose Mourinho? It gives you real confidence. His partnership with Vincent Kompany looked to be giving nothing away to the opposition. “I don’t want to go in that direction”. They always got behind the team. You could say that, but it can also be the opposite.

“Normally we train very well”.

“That is an evident sign of ambition, he wants to play every game”. West Brom is going to pick up a point here because Chelsea is a mess.

“We proved what we could do previous year with a victory against them, albeit they were already champions and had probably downed tools a little bit”, he said.

Mourinho, who described himself as the Happy One on his return to Chelsea two summers ago, is eager for self-improvement as well as collective.
