Anticipating Kavanaugh’s confirmation, some groups have explored the impeachment process for removing him from the high court.

He said “radical Democrats” have become “an angry, left-wing mob” and “too risky and too extreme to govern”. Kavanaugh was confirmed Saturday 50-48.
During the vote, other protesters shouted “shame” from the public gallery and Vice-President Mike Pence had to call for order to be restored. What was put out there is – if I voted no on Judge Kavanugh’s nomination, the money would be refunded to the donors.
“It’s turned our base on fire”, said Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell moments after Kavanaugh had been confirmed.
Sen. Joe Manchin III was the only Democratic senator in a state Trump won by double digits who chose to support Kavanaugh. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, her career.
Republicans are trying to cling to a narrow 51-49 Senate majority in congressional elections that will be held on November 6.
The fundraising page called attention to Kavanaugh’s judicial record. “Instead of a 6-3 liberal Supreme Court under Hillary Clinton, we now have a 5-4 conservative Supreme Court under President @realDonaldTrump, cementing a tremendous legacy for the President and a better future for America”. “Women will not forget this”.
“Congratulations Judge Kavanaugh!” Sanders tweeted.
Christine Blasey Ford had accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault and they were both due to testify about the allegations in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
A new CBS poll released on Sunday suggested the court battle may have hurt Democratic Senate hopes in states like Texas and Tennessee, where more voters wanted the Senate to confirm Kavanaugh than not.
Protesters railed against Kavanaugh on Capitol Hill in the week leading up to the final vote Saturday.
What has Mr Trump said?
Senator Mazie Hirono, a Democrat from Hawaii, said Sunday that Kavanaugh would be sitting on the court “with a huge taint after his name”. And it was fought against the backdrop of the #MeToo movement and Trump’s unyielding support of his nominee and occasional mocking of Kavanaugh’s accusers.
Hours before the vote, more than 1,000 protesters, mostly women, broke through barricades and staged a raucous sit-in protest on the US Capitol steps, just feet away from the imposing doors to the Rotunda.
Later he spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One, saying Mr Kavanaugh had withstood a “horrible attack by the Democrats” and that women were “outraged” at what had happened to the nominee. Hundreds of other demonstrators watched from behind barricades.
“An FBI investigation that did not include interviews of Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh is not a meaningful investigation in any sense of the word”, they said in a statement quoted in United States media.
Republicans “conducted one of the least transparent, least fair, most biased processes in Senate history, slanting the table from the very beginning to produce their desired result”, he added. In the weeks leading up to the vote, opponents of Kavanaugh staged protests in ME created to influence the senator’s decision, including at her offices in Portland and Bangor, and outside her home in Bangor.
Manchin expressed empathy for sexual assault victims. “I do believe that she was assaulted”.
Trump treated the lone GOP defection as an affront that he quickly predicted would cost Sen.
But Mr Thompson scoffed at the idea that Mr Kavanaugh’s nomination will help Democrats in next month’s mid-term elections.
Democrats vehemently opposed Mr Kavanaugh, arguing he was a threat to the Roe v Wade ruling, which guarantees the right to abortion. They said he also seemed too ready to rule for Trump in a possible federal court case against the president.

Democrats had slammed McConnell for his willingness to advance the Kavanaugh nomination despite the sexual assault allegations against him when he would not give Garland a hearing.
