Wearables are now a solid part of the mobile technology category and Samsung was rumoured to launch a round smartwatch at MWC 2015 codenamed the Orbis was is likely to arrive as the Samsung Gear A but we now know it will be the Gear S2.

Amidst the pile of hastily written hands-on “reviews” of Samsungs latest phablet line up, a crucial and tantalising piece of tech news went unnoticed as reviewers who’d barely spent any time at all with the Galaxy S6 Edge+ or Note 5 clambered to get their opinions published.
With the Gear S2, Samsung have ditched Android wear in favour of the more energy efficient and compact Tizen OS which they designed in-house. The Gear S2’s interface looked extremely clean and uncluttered (which is definitely a good thing when your screen is just over an inch in size). The previous version of Samsung Gear only supported the smartphones of Samsung’s Galaxy series. The short video gives a glimpse at some of the watch faces, as well as apps including weather, time zone, stopwatch, and a fitness tracking app as well.
According to the Verge, the video shows a huge change coming to the Gear equipments.
The watch even flashed “Keep it up!” to motivate users during their run or any form of exercise. Next, the watch face itself includes complications that provide your next meeting and your pulse, making it clear that the device features a heart rate sensor.
There’s extensive customisation by the looks of it, as well as the use of new circular icons – something critics will point to as being strikingly similar to the Apple Watch.
“Overall, this device is a big departure from the Gear S. The 3G radio was one of the most important features of the first iteration – you could make calls from your watch without relying on your phone. It will be hard to squeeze a keyboard on a rounded smartwatch”, added TechCrunch.

By next month, the public will be able to realize that this Samsung device is potentially more powerful than that offered by Apple.
