Prayers answered: Bon Jovi to play Vancouver
Bon Jovi was determined to find a way to perform in the city after promoter Paper Rain filed for bankruptcy, he said Thursday in a statement by his touring company.

Instead, Bon Jovi is now slated to play Rogers Arena on Saturday with Kings of Suburbia, a New Jersey band that backs the singer for his solo shows.
In Vancouver, the city said earlier this week that promoter Paper Rain did not have the required permits for Bon Jovi to perform at Stanley Park. “Fortunately for us, ours was here and then subsequently a lot of people followed us up to Vancouver to make the records with our production team”.
Although he said he wasn’t involved in the circumstances that led to the show’s cancellation, he apologized to fans for the “turmoil” the situation caused.
Famed for his hard rock image, United States rocker Jon Bon Jovi has shown his softer side with the Mandarin ballad The Moon Represents My Heart made legendary by the late Taiwanese songbird Teresa Teng.
“It took our efforts to make this happen”. The show is open to all fans who purchased tickets to the cancelled Stanley Park show.
Vancouver holds a special place in Bon Jovi’s heart, and he says he couldn’t miss out on a show here.
“From ’86 to ’92 this was absolutely home for the band”. “Our roots are very deep here, at a time when Vancouver was a much more innocent, small town that was far away”.
“It seemed to me like it was Vancouver’s coming out party in 1986”.
