Axl Rose was Late because of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Not sure how a viewing of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze fits into that explanation, but according to Alternative Nation, that was the reason Rose was late to GNR’s concert in Tampa on December 28th, 1991. In the meantime, we’d like to imagine that Rose just wanted to watch Vanilla Ice perform his “Ninja Rap” in the movie – as Ice himself put it past year, “It’s a Ninja Turtles generation run in the nation”.

As outcome Of Sound reports, the singer has something of a reputation for turning up late to his own gigs – he’s sometimes kept fans waiting for up to three hours, in fact.
This wasn’t the only incident that occurred during the Use Your Illusions tour. It is also known as the “Rocket Queen Riot”.
In May, Slash did hint that he was getting along better with Axl, saying, “We don’t have all those issues anymore. Take that! Now, get that guy and take that!” Axl Rose is not one of those people. Slash, who left Guns N’ Roses in 1996, delivered the update on their relationship in an interview with Sweden’s Aftonbladet. The footage was captured by Robert John, who was documenting the entire tour for the band. Axl Rose is a man whose tardiness preceds him.

Rose later stated that the Guns N’ Roses security staff made four requests to the venue’s security team to remove the camera, which were ultimately ignored. In the Use Your Illusion II’s artwork under the “Thank You” section, there is an insert that says “F*ck You, St. Louis!”
