Former US President Jimmy Carter Reveals He’s Suffering From Cancer

Former President Jimmy Carter will discuss his cancer diagnosis this Thursday in a press conference at the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia, the Carter Center announced.

As per Carter, the 39th president who served in office from 1977 to 1981, “Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body”.

Carter had a “small mass” removed from his liver in an early-August surgical procedure.

Carter told the New York Times in 2007 that he and other relatives had given blood for genetic studies seeking to help doctors diagnose the disease.

His most recent book, A Full Life, was released following Carter’s 90th birthday and is a reflective account of the president’s life.

Previously, Carter had lost his father, brother and two sisters with the same means of disease.

The former US President and Nobel Peace Prize victor is famous for his outspoken faith.

The former winger, who also played for Millwall, Arsenal and Portsmouth during a 16-year professional career, was even forced to send out a message of his own – reiterating his identity, as the Daily Mirror report.

His initial statement said further information would be provided when more facts are known.

“Any treatment in a 90-year-old would be carefully considered, both for its potential to help and the impact on quality of life and general health”, and his doctors likely will explain his options in those terms, Lichtenfeld said.

The health of Carter has become subject of speculation through the years despite being active.

After the cancer announcement, good wishes were posted on Jimmy Carter’s social media accounts.

Since he left the Oval Office, he established the Carter Foundation and has traveled the world working on issues like healthcare and global democracy.
