Square Enix Confirms Lara Croft GO for Mobile

IGN went hands-on with Lara’s next entry into the mobile market, and we found it to be pretty good.

“Lara Croft Go” was first announced by Square Enix back in the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo back in June held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Today, publisher Microsoft Studios released an alternate playthrough focused on stealth, presumably meant to allay fears that developer Crystal Dynamics was turning Tomb Raider into a game more about killing than adventuring.

Distraction is the name of the game here, as Lara fires arrows, bottles and cans to draw guards away from her path so she can sneak by them. Granted it would probably be much easier to run in guns blazing, but like we said if you want a challenge instead of just mindless violence, then the upcoming game does not look like it will disappoint.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is due on 10th November for Xbox One and Xbox 360 with a PC release to follow in early 2016 and a PS4 port trailing behind in Hanukkah season 2016.

Square Enix Montreal’s follow-up to the mobile title Hitman GO will launch simultaneously on iOS, Android and Windows Phone for £3.99.

Lara Croft GO takes its cues from Hitman GO and will take the essence of the franchise and distill it into a portable form.
