Van Gaal poised to give Bastian Schweinsteiger his first start for Manchester

Louis van Gaal criticised the decision to disallow a Wayne Rooney goal as Manchester United were held 0-0 by Newcastle United on Saturday.

The quintet have helped United make a 100 percent start in the Premier League and beat Club Brugge 3-1 in the first leg of their Champions League play-off.

Wayne Rooney believes the criticism directed at him for the lack of goals for Manchester United is unwarranted and is confident he will soon rediscover his scoring touch.

“After a few weeks it can bring pressure from the media, he took a risk, but he is very confident that he shall make the goals that we expect from him, and I have that confidence also”.

“I think if we want Pedro, it was not any problem so because there was a clause in his contract so it was the most easy transfer“, he added.

“I have seen a great match, I think the performance was one of the best in my period (as manager)”.

With regards to incomings, Van Gaal didn’t rule out buying more players in the remaining days of the window – but they will only move for them if they improve the squad. I think you also need luck in football and it’s not only what you say about quality.

Did he also present a laminated dossier with lovely stats to try and show that “we never wanted him THAT much anyway, I mean look, we only spent x on business class plane fares, chauffeur driven vehicle fares, expenses and admin work for the deal…”

One report claimed Van Gaal has now turned his attentions to Pedro’s former Barcelona team-mate Neymar.

“You can write what you want but we cannot say what we want, that is the difference”.

The England worldwide is yet to score this season but will surely have chances to break his duck against Steve McClaren’s men at Old Trafford. I have tried previous year all the positions, because he is multifunctional.

“We were unlucky with rewarding ourselves because we have created a lot of chances”.

“The performance was good and the fans were always behind the players”.
