They said that the government-appointed mediator Mualana Fazlur Rehman and the MQM had a successful meeting just a few days earlier where it was chose to continue talks in Islamabad.
MQM has temporarily parted its ways from the parliamentary politics and chose to have complete focus on the welfare activities and formation of a new province.
The party had made this decision after reviewing the non-serious attitude of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who did not even valued the mediation of the key politician Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Fazal-ur-Reman also advised the government to stop commenting regarding the issue of MQM’s resignations.
Earlier in the day JUI-F chief, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Leader of the Opposition Khursheed Shah contacted MQM leader Farooq Sattar via telephone and urged him to reconsider party’s decision to break off negotiations.
The MQM chief was booked for allegedly threatening Rangers officials during a TV talk show following a pre-dawn raid on his party headquarters, Nine Zero, and adjoining areas in Azizabad, on March 11.

However, the minister said that there would be no compromise on Karachi operation as it was started with consensus of all political parties including the MQM.
